Roses…and trying to de-stress….

Things have been very hectic this week around here. My Coffeehouse Cafe that my business partner and I sold in Oct. 2009 is coming back to us as the owner financed sale has failed. Many decisions having to be made at this moment, all while the Stock Market is doing it’s latest swan dive and I’m trying to photograph my beautiful roses while they are at their prime!
Soooo…I’m going to try to free myself of all worries and move it along here…:) This is an English Rose named Lady Guinevere. It is a Floribunda, shrub rose and one of my favorites. All of these pictures are of the same rose bush, one day apart. Amazing how different the rose looks at different stages of blooming.

This picture above is my favorite, and to my surprise and delight I was able to right click it and save it as my desktop background on my computer without any degradation.. If you love roses, give it a try!

Might as well throw a kitty picture in at this point…yep, that’ll make me smile…my little demon Althea…

  1. Your rose is beautiful! I am from Michigan and though mine are growing there are no blooms yet! I can't wait to share my very favorite! Congratulations on your new blog! I think you will love blogging. For me it is a great way to be creative and talk about things I love! Things some of my friends probably don't want to hear me banter on about. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I look forward to following yours! Have a wonderful day!

  2. Thanks so much Lynda for the kind words. I love your blog and as a matter of fact, still have it opened from last night...(I backed up and am looking at your beautiful Christmas decorations.)As for the roses...this has been the most incredible spring for them that I ever recall and of course, it's spring and so the leaves and blossoms are new and disease free! LOL...best time for taking pictures of them, though I will hold out hope of that lasting, it's not likely! Thanks again for stopping by!

  3. Sheree, my gardens are one of my biggest stress reliefs...other than music & the laughter of Pam with the little ones...nothing can compete with the early morning smell of roses & lavender...or the tomatoe vines...yep...I dig those tomatoes

  4. Boy, I bet you have tomatoes ripened already too Keith eh? I have a bunch on the vine, but not nearly ripe yet! I can't wait! The bunnies however have had their way with the green beans...yet another year with no fresh green beans..:/
