How did you Celebrate?

I'm tired...Jack gets over stimulated or something when we have large gatherings and through out the night has something akin to night terrors, but not quite.  Lots of yelling in his sleep and sitting straight up in bed.   We finally just put him in bed with us around 4am.

The trash pick up folks decided today was not a holiday and made their rounds, much to the chagrin of the entire street!  Therefor our phone rang at 7:23 (am) with an all out alert "the trash man is here" from our neighbor.  So after getting to bed around 2am, I was up and dh was up.  Jack however just got up at 10:30. Nice right? *g*

Anyway, here was our day in images...not much narration required I think....and thanks to everyone that shared their delicious dishes, I wish I had gotten pictures of all the wonderful food, but alas I faltered in the picture taking department!

Debra's (my sister) famous BLT Dip....

Pina Colada's also Debra's...(she's the true entertaining guru amongst us)

Store bought shade...

Home grown  pyromaniacs...seriously...I'm not kidding! ;)

Enablers of home grown pyromaniacs....

Can you say long day? *g*

  8. Aww! Poor little Jack looks so pooped in the pics! I'm sure he had the greatest time though! We Westerners do not get to play with fireworks=major fire hazard in our DRY climate. Kind of a bummer but we have a casino pretty close to home that has THE BEST fireworks display (waaayy better than the city display). They always do their show on the 3rd during Pow Wow. The boys were a little scared at first but then loved it. Fun memories!
Hey Sheree, I was thinking... you ever consider going into the catering/wedding industry? I think you would be soooo great at it! Your attention to detail is amazing. You have a natural talent that should not be wasted!
    xo, Amber ;)

  9. Oh my gosh Amber, I sooo don't wanna work, it's just so hard that business. Physically hard! I had the Cafe' remember? And frankly, that baby may not have been put entirely to bed yet, we'll see!

But aren't you so sweet to leave such a lovely comment! It's always so good to hear from you!

ps...thank your lucky stars that you can't play with the fireworks! One less worry...;)

  12. "Store-bought shade" love it! Looks like you had a great time! We went to see some local fireworks. There were some folks setting off illegal fireworks in a very crowded area. Looks like the "homgrown" folks you knew were much smarter about it! Talk soon!

  13. Oh ya, they are totally legal where I live! Those were our grown sons and their friends. When they were children we didn't let them shoot them and we only did the shower sort that stay on the ground. Those sons are in their mid 30's now, so we sort of let them play now...;)
Sorry to hear that people were setting them off in crowded places. That's a little scary when you have your children with you!

  15. Hi Carol and thank you!
I'm pretty sure the Pina Colada's came straight from a TGIF's bottle and you just put them in the blender with ice. It is the first time I had them though, and they were especially good and very creamy!
