I have a Christmas cookie post to share with you, but gosh darn I'm just so busy and still haven't gotten the photos off my camera. But my blogging friend Amber is having a wonderful Christmas giveaway on her blog that will be ending soon, so I wanted to send out a quick post about that! I love the pillows that she is giving away and thought about a few of my readers as well when I saw them! So if you're interested, hop on over there and take a quick peek!
The picture is a link...;)
The winner will be chosen Christmas morning, so don't dawdle! (Sorry I'm so late sharing this info with you)

First Snow
The birds are just going wacky and I just had to catch some of them in action! All of these photos were taken from inside because gosh darn it, it's COLD out there!
Hope you all are having a most joyous day, whether you have some of the white stuff or not!

Christmas Time Mantel
This guy has been in our family for years on end....I love him!
He plays soft Christmas tunes and his world globe spins slowly...
Jack has laid claim on all 5 of the stockings this year!
A hand painted gift from my son and his wife. This ornament was painted from the inside! Just stunning...
I love Christmas time and all the shiny things to go along with the love you can feel in the air! I also really enjoy sharing with you my little place in the world, and how it looks and changes with each season. Now all I need is some snow! Can you hear my Santa?

Maybe Not So Daring...
Happy end to Holiday break Monday!! Man, with Jack being off school since November 19th, it feels like it's been a really long Holiday Break! Along with that holiday bird, came a nice case of a stomach virus for Jack. Not only Jack but a minimum of 4 people in attendance were sick by Saturday! Ahh, and so it goes...*g*
We did manage to get the tree up and decorated yesterday and we all had a wonderful time doing that!
I promised a peek at the new rug, which I called "daring" in my last post. However, after living with it for a week or so, I've decided that probably no one else would consider it daring and that I have just become boring and non adventurous!
I really like how it looks, but best of all, it's not going to show those doggy foot prints
when he runs past me as I let him in from outside!
Here's another view. This is exciting eh? ;)
Sitting on the sofa is my awesome burlap pillow that I got from Ambers Black Rooster Cottage . I love it!
I'm thinking she is in the process of re stocking her wares,
so their may not be anything available on line at the moment, but check often as she always has such special things! (Amber, I'm longing for that pendant to be offered! ;)
And for good measure, a bonus shot of the tree! The mantel nor the rest of the house is decorated yet, but Jack just had to get those stockings up!
Hope everyone enjoyed their family time, stayed well and are getting in the Christmas spirit! I just LOVE this time of year and felt all sorts of excitement as I drove Jack to school this morning and made stops at the post office. It always feels like love is in the air this time of year!
Happy Monday!

Winters Winds Are Blowing In...Sort Of
Jack is already on holiday break! It's so hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already here, with the Christmas season just beyond. Where the heck did this year go? Anyway, today we were blessed with temps in the 70's but with the promise of thunderstorms dropping the temperatures to more seasonal levels overnight. I thought what better time than now to get out and get the roses trimmed back so they won't be whipping in the wind as winter creeps in. Of course I forgot to take the camera out while Jack and I were working, but I did run back out and take some photos so you guys could see what a difference Autumn makes around here.
btw...I already DID the leaves, several times actually. What's left is just gonna have to be left! :)
And of course the reason for being out there....
These are on their last leg, but I couldn't resist saving them to bring inside anyway. They smell heavenly!
Once we were back inside I had promised Jack that he could give his Chia Kung Fu Panda another go round. This silly thing was a gift from one of his brothers last year. After it died back, we set him and the extra seeds aside to re do it at a later time. So that was today!
Jack loves this thing!
Hope everyone is having fun getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner and precious time with family and friends! We celebrate Thanksgiving at my sisters house, so I won't be having any Turkey recipes or photos to share on that matter, BUT...I did get a daring new area rug over the weekend and will be posting that this later this week!
